Volunteering

What is volunteering?

Working as a volunteer for Age Concern Redbridge can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience and is a great opportunity to meet new people. If you feel that you can give some time to help others - as little or as much as you like - then we would be pleased to hear from you. Previous experience is not essential but experience in certain fields (e.g. Healthcare, social care, administration) is welcome. If you have a particular skill which you feel may benefit older people (e.g. IT, Arts & Crafts) we would be very pleased to hear from you.Volunteers are recruited on the basis of sensitivity towards the needs of older people. Age Concern Redbridge offers support when needed and encourages volunteers to attend training sessions which are an opportunity to learn more about attitudes to ageing, improve your understanding of older peoples needs and develop your listening skills.

Out of pocket expenses are paid monthly (or by arrangement). Without the commitment and dedication of our existing volunteers many of our services would not exist.
