Lobbying The Houses of Parliament
5 members of the Voices of Experience group, along with Janet the co ordinator of the service, joined with 200 older people to take part in a mass lobby of Parliament at Westminster on June 10th in protest at the failing care and support system for older people.
The 5 members met with local MPS Lee Scott and Harry Cohen, to tell them about their experiences and some of the problems older people in Redbridge face on a daily basis. The lobby was arranged by Age Concern and Help the Aged and followed on from listening events held around the country by different Age Concerns. The Government has promised to publish a green paper on review of the Care system.
